Introduction to the Advanced Forex Strategies Course

Video Transcription:

Hey, traders. Welcome to The Advanced Forex Strategies course. This is Corey Mitchell. In this video, we’re looking at an introduction of what we will cover in the course, as well as who I am, and it’s brought to you buy

So, what you’re going to learn in The Advanced Forex Strategies course, we’re going to cover a lot of strategies. The strategies build on one another, you can use them independently, but each one is going to teach you how to read the market a bit better, and offer insights into your overall trading.

This will allow you to build on your skill set so you can learn to anticipate price waves, when we get toward the end of the course you’re going to be able to do that. You’re going to be able to have enough information to be able to read how the price is moving, whether it’s moving with conviction, if it’s likely to turn, and by using all that information you can get much better entry points, with lower risk, and higher reward potential, which is exactly the opposite of what most people think. Most people think that you cannot anticipate anything, and therefore you have to take these horrible entry points, and that’s simply not true.

By anticipating what we believe the market’s going to do, and acting on that with conviction we can get some great entry points, and small risks, large profits. So, keys to success we’re going to look at. So, that includes money management, position size, and avoiding certain common strategies that just don’t work. There’s a lot of information out there that just isn’t quite accurate, in terms of strategies that people are using, which they just say you know you have to trade this way, and it’s simply not the case. We’re going to go over some of those poor strategies that are just commonly taught, and we’ll show why they don’t work, and we’re going to give you, obviously, a host of alternatives.

Each video is slides at the start to show the concepts, similar to what you’re looking at now; so that you can easily just click back in the video, review if you have a question. So, we’re going to go over those concepts right at the beginning, so you can easily go through them after if you want. Each video has historic examples of the trades; you can see them in practice. It should give you enough to be able to out there and start practicing these methods.

Which is the next point, trading requires work, and you will need to take time to practice these strategies, and get good at them. Especially as we get toward the end, you’re building on your knowledge; so you need to get in there really practice. Ingrain these concepts, as opposed to simply reading it and saying, “Yes, I know that.” Just because you’ve read a book on fixing a car doesn’t mean you actually know how to fix a car. Trading is absolutely no different. We’re going to look at these strategies, but then you’re going to have to take some time to actually go in, practice in a demo account, and get good at them, before you start implementing them with real money.

There is so much information-ways to enter, ways to exit, trade setups-that you’ll be able to find a way in trading that works for you, your personality, and you’re account size. So, I’ve taken all traders into consideration, and tried to give you, while the strategies I provide are concrete they can also be flexible, in a sense that I’ve given you one entry method, one strategy, which could potentially work with another strategy as well, so that you have a whole host of ways that you can take these strategies and make them your own. Tweak them a little bit. So, I give you that option, and as we go through the videos, especially toward the earlier part of the course, I show you how to do that, and give you examples of how you can alter the strategies slightly to suit your needs.

So, who I am, there’s me there. My name’s Cory Mitchell. I’m a chartered market technician, member of the Market Technician’s Association, Canadian Society of Technical Analysts, which is part of the International Federation of Technical Analysts. So, I’ve been a trader since 2005. I finished university. I had kind of fallen in love with trading after I took a trading simulation course in university.

So, I went to work for an institutional prop trading firm. What that basically is, is you go to work for a company that gives you money to make more money. You have no clients; all you do is trade, similar to what you do at home, what you do at home, what I do at home. Now, you’re just given some money, and you trade it, and you try to make more money, and that’s how you make your living. There’s a really nothing else about it. You don’t get a salary. Everything’s performance based.

So, it was a great experience. I really loved it. Ultimately, decided to go on my own. I now just trade independently, mostly day trade, and swing trade Forex. And since that doesn’t take too long out of my day, I write for a host of financial sites, and magazines, and also the founder of, which I started in 2007 to kind of keep track of some of my own thoughts and stuff on the market while I was trading. So, that is my story. That’s what you’re going to learn in the course. I wish you all the success. And until next time, happy trading.
